We celebrated our open house on the El Camino Hospital campus on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Fogarty Institute for Innovation is an educational non-profit that mentors, trains and inspires the next generation of medical innovators. The Institute is where physicians and engineers learn to collaborate and understand the integration of their respective fields. The institute assists emerging medical innovators in translating their ideas into new patient therapies.  The presence of these more senior physicians and engineers engaging in actual medical innovation facilitates the hands-on learning that is at the core of our curriculum. Institute founder, Dr. Thomas J. Fogarty, is universally recognized as the preeminent physician innovator of his generation. Dr. Fogarty, along with other prominent physician innovators and engineers will serve as the faculty of the Institute.
